This weekend while Al worked away on the farm, I snuck off to play.
A buddy and I hiked a few miles back from the trail-head to Upper Lake Stevens along the Idaho/Montana border for a couple nights of camping and fishing. The weather could not have been more perfect for our trip. It’s funny though, as remote and beautiful as this place is, it seemed like grand central station compared to Moosicorn. There were quite a few hikers out and about enjoying the tremendous views and weather. Here are some pics from the adventure…

Saturday we hiked up to the ridge line for a bird’s eye view of Upper Lake.

Camp was quite comfortable, we were about 40 feet from the water…

There was even snow about 20 feet from our tents… went great with the Jack.

The lake was crystal clear and the trout were biting. Unfortunately they were a bit undersized for the frying pan. (Photo credit: Erick Doxey)

All in all, an incredible weekend.
Meanwhile back at Moosicorn, Alex was taking on the raised beds! Great work darling!
