Week 7 Update in Photos

Things are plugging along here at Moosicorn…

During the electrical installation we encountered a few road bumps-some of which we are still trying to figure out. We had an electrician come out as a consultant for a couple of hours to look over our work before the inspection. And actually, we didn’t make too many obvious mistakes. Getting the main line of electricity into the building was no easy task, however. That is the little issue we’re still trying to deal with. For now, the inspection is postponed and our brains are re-booting. I think we can, I think we can, I know we can…

Meanwhile, outside Sadie is grappling with her own issues. Meet Sadie’s arch nemesis: The Yellow Pine Chipmunk. Don’t be deceived by their cuteness; they’ve got Sadie’s number and they’re not afraid to use it. For instance, I’m quite certain they intentionally try to get her to jump off the deck. And just the other day, we had to rescue Sadie from underneath the Subaru. She had chased one of these Timber Tigers under the car where she got her head stuck in the undercarriage. Scott crawled under the car and worked for a quite some time in order to dislodge her head.

We’d been meaning to finish the deck for quite a while and with the added risk of these methodical little critters chirping, “Jump, Sadie! Jump!”, we finally got it done. “Done” is a relative term, however. As it turns out, we’re missing six pieces of wood. But all in good time, right? :)

All in all, we’re making a ton of progress. And anyway, mistakes and hang-ups are really just opportunities to learn. But the thing that keeps me smiling is the amount of time we spend outside.  In fact, as I write this, I can hear coyotes howling close by. This is how it should be.
