The Shed

Posted by Scott on 26 Jan 2009 / 0 Comment

The building of the shed was a fun process. What started off as a temporary bit of storage, quickly evolved into a full scale project. We began the shed on June 20th 2008, and got the framing completed that weekend. We finished sheeting it the following weekend. The rest of the details are a bit fuzzy from there, at the time we were living over 5 hours away, and we repeatedly forgot our camera as we headed to the property.

Sometime that fall before the snow showed up we managed to get it painted. The shed survived the winter in good form and provided plenty of protection for the tools and supplies, despite sitting in 3 feet of snow for most the winter. The 12/12 pitch of the roof really helped make sure the weight didn’t stack up too much.

The shed roof for the tractor parking was done the following spring. With Al’s help I was able to get the tractor-port framed and roofed the morning of Sunday April 26th, 2009 in about 3 hours. We added some pegs for tool storage and were pretty much done. (Minus constant reorganizing of the shelving and workspace on the inside.)
