Septic System

Posted by Scott on 26 Jan 2009 / 1 Comment

These two are tied together for us, because we are going to install our solar panels over our septic drain field. We’re doing this for a few reasons… we’ll be able to clear less forest, we’ll have our solar panels down where we can work on them easily, and it will keep us from running over the drain field with the tractor.

We’re currently working out what we’re going to do about the septic system. We have a full set of plans, an approved septic permit and are ready to go with a customary system. In the meantime we’re trying to figure out a composting toilet/grey water recycling program that would allow us to reuse more of the well water than our original plans have been spec’d for.
